Calling All Lovebirds & Online Daters

Well, hello there. I am emerging from hibernation briefly to ask you this:

Would you like to be on television?

The lovely folks over at BBC Horizon are making a film about the science of online dating, and love in the digital age, and they told me they need your beautiful face. Yes, you my dear. If you and your partner found love online (via dating sites, dating apps etc) then they want to hear from you.

The idea is to have couples telling their stories to camera a little like the couch sessions in When Harry Met Sally but, hopefully, a little more diverse. Filming will take place at the BBC studios in early to mid September so, providing you meet the criteria, you must be available during this period. Now, go fix that hair and get ready for your big close-up because, quite frankly, you look like a mess. I jest, you're all beautiful. For further details on how to apply, see below:

BBC Horizon: Online Dating

Award-winning BBC science series Horizon is making a new film about online dating, and we need your help.

We’re looking for fun, open-minded volunteers to take part in an up-coming documentary, as BBC Horizon delves into the world of online dating and asks whether science and maths can really help people find love. We’re looking for couples who met online to be interviewed on-camera, talking about anything from how they met to awkward date anecdotes and advice they have for modern daters still looking for that special someone.

If you met your partner online and are interested in finding out more, we’d be delighted to hear from you!

To be considered for the episode you must be:
  • Aged 18 years or over
  • Willing to appear on TV
  • Able to come to our studio in London for a day in  early / mid September (exact date TBC)

To apply, email us at HorizonDating@bbc.co.uk with:
  • A photo of yourselves together as a couple
  • A line or two about how you met
  • A contact email address and telephone number

…and a member of the Horizon team will get back to you.

Best of luck. Do let me know if you'll be appearing on the small screen, I do so love having famous readers. Lionel Richie reads this blog, you know (possible fabrication). So does Bill Withers (I think Bill Withers is dead).
I'm very popular with American soul singers born in the 1930s / 40s.
