More for eHarmony UK: Hello, and Welcome to Your Brown Parents

Well, hello there Internet. What's that you say? Fallen off the edge of your seat have you?? Of course you have; and quite frankly, I don't blame you. Well, get yourself together and get ready for my next instalment for the lovely folks at eHarmony UK

Continuing on in The Modern Muslim Guide to Dating series my latest piece talks about the challenges and considerations around meeting the parents. Fusing together your personal life and your family life can be such a complex and delicate process. I tired to talk about what helped me during my dating years and, ultimately, when I brought my husband home.

Funnily enough, although we got together 5 years ago, my husband and I dated briefly when we were 14 and he was actually my first kiss (I know, I know). If you want to read about that embarrassing experience go here.

Anyway, back to the present. I hope you enjoy this column and if you think it's good, or even if you think it's terrible, tell me why. This is such a multifaceted topic to write about and every viewpoint counts. I'm only speaking from my own experience but I would love to hear yours too!

So, without further ado, I give you:
